The Firebird Project is pleased to announce the release today of the first Firebird 2.0 public Alpha kits for immediate download and testing.
The Firebird Project will soon be releasing the first public 'alpha' release of Firebird 2.0. Version 2.0 is a long-awaited important major release of Firebird with many new features, enhancements and bugfixes. In number of changes, the jump in this release is equivalent if not greater than the transition from version 1.0 to version 1.5.
Because some potential corruption problems have shown up with pre-existing databases on the AMD64 Linux installations of Firebird 1.5.2, the kits have been recalled to the pre-release area for further testing.
Release notes: (Please read the Changelog for details)
The full release of Firebird 1.5.2 for Linux and Windows has been placed into the production download area. For links to your preferred kit, please visit the Downloads page. These kits are the same build (4731) that was released as RC5. Release notes are here. Enjoy!!!
Firebird v.1.5 release candidate Classic kits for HPUX-11 and Solaris Sparc platforms, along with v.1.0.3 Superserver and Classic kits for Solaris Sparc, are ready for download and testing in the pre-release area. The HPUX port is by Paul Beach, the Solaris ports by Huw Jones.
Latest — and hopefully last — beta build (4731) of Firebird 1.5.2 is now available in our pre-release area for download and final testing. Updated point release notes can be read on-line or downloaded. Please submit any problem descriptions directly to the Firebird-devel list: we don't want beta problems in the bug tracker.
The latest Jaybird driver point release 1.5.5 is now available. If there are no showstoppers in this version, it will be the last v.1.5 point release. Coming next will be v.1.6, with Services API support.
Firebird 1.5.2 Release Candidate 4 is ready in the pre-release area for download and testing. Feed back directly to Firebird-devel on any new problems encountered, please.
The Firebird ADO.NET Data Provider 1.7 Beta 2 is available for download and testing. It fixes a number of bug issues and includes a new Wizard Framework to simplify the development of design time wizards and a configuration wizard for the FbDataAdapter class.
